• The game is set in the fictional state of Leonida, home to Vice City and surrounding regions.^[1][2]
• There are two playable protagonists, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval.^[3][4]
• Players can switch between the two at almost any time in the open world; the story may lock switching at certain points.^[5][6]
• The story starts when an easy score goes wrong and drags the pair into a statewide criminal conspiracy.^[2][1]
• Rockstar named six regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.^[3][7][8]

Unconfirmed Reported from official gameplay previews

On 27 August 2026 journalists watched Rockstar staff play the game in hands-off sessions. These details come from their reports and are very likely accurate, but we have not seen them in the released game yet.

• The Wanted system tracks what police know about your appearance and vehicle, so changing clothes or car can shake pursuit. Previews describe a six-star scale.^[23][5][6]
• Previews report that the Jason-Lucia romance is optional and can be played as a platonic partnership.^[6]
• Rockstar North's Rob Nelson said his playthrough took about 80 hours; the campaign is chapter-based.^[6]
• Diet, exercise and lifestyle visibly affect the protagonists' bodies.^[23]

GTA 6 has been the target of several leaks, including a major one in September 2022 that Rockstar confirmed and condemned^[34][35][36]. More unauthorised clips were reported in August 2026. We do not show, describe or link leaked footage, images, map traces or details. Anything that exists only because of a leak is left out of this site, including our map.

Why it matters

GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games ever, and its rumours move markets: Bloomberg reported that false delay claims in January 2026 knocked Take-Two's share price^[37]. Checking the source is the simplest defence. Every claim on this site links to where it came from.
