Vice City is the anchor of GTA 6 and the name most players already know. The series first visited it in 2002, set in the 1980s. This time it returns as a present-day city inside the wider state of Leonida.

Rockstar presents Vice City as a single city that sums up America's glamour, hustle and greed. Its neighbourhoods range from the pastel art-deco hotels and white sand of Ocean Beach to the bakeries of Little Cuba. The Tisha-Wocka flea market is known for knock-off brands, and the VC Port is billed as the cruise-ship capital of the world. It is the neon-lit centre of the state of Leonida.^[1][2][3]

Real-world inspiration

Modern-day Miami, Florida, the same city that inspired 2002's GTA: Vice City.^[9][5][10]

Its real-world model is Miami, including the art-deco strip of Miami Beach. That is a setting of pastel hotels, cruise terminals, nightlife and money. It also has large Cuban-American neighbourhoods, which Rockstar mirrors with Little Cuba. The comparison helps you picture the setting, but Leonida is fiction: street layouts and distances in the game will not match the real city.

It holds more officially named places than any other region: a beach district, neighbourhoods, a port, a flea market and several venues tied to the supporting cast.
